Historical Houses and Private Collections," Presented by Helen
Alten, Northern States Conservation Center, AAM Annual Meeting in Portland,

This handbook includes updated information from both the Beyond
Fingernail Polish I and II along with new information prior to the
workshop in 2003. It includes new sections on labeling plastics and
bar-coding. There is also the lecture notes from the workshop by Helen
Alten. (162 pages with a 9 page bibliography) It is designed to assist
collections staff in making an informed choice when
marking and labeling collection objects.

by museum consultant, Diane Zorich, and jointly published by the National
Initiative for a Networked Cultural Heritage (NINCH) and the Canadian
Heritage Information Network (CHIN), it discusses the numerous benefits
available to museums when they develop the proper policies to manage
their intellectual property.
"Found in Collections": Reconciling
Undocumented Objects in Historical Museums by Melinda Simms, is
a 23-page reference guide, developed for collections workers, and designed
to help facilitate the reconciliation of undocumented objects-what many
of us so fondly (or maybe not so fondly) refer to as FIC's. The guide
is available online in pdf format for anyone who wishes to post the
url on their website, read, or print a copy. Anyone interested in reading
