| In the last decade of the 20th century, museum staff charged with collections care recognized that with increasing professionalism came a need for expanded educational opportunities. Attendance at professional meetings offered an important channel for professional development. In 1990, Crozier Fine Arts supported the first travel fellowship through the Registrars Committee. The Kay Paris Memorial Fellowship, which provides educational resources to entry level or new museum registrars and collections managers, was initiated the following year. Other travel fellowships targeting international registrars and young professionals, sponsored over the years by International Art Transport, Masterpiece International, Ltd., Grace Fine Arts, and Barthco International, were inaugurated in 1994 and 1997, respectively. In 1999, a travel fellowship in memory of Margaret A. Willard was launched for museum studies students and interns. As funds for the two memorial fellowships were depleted, Willis Fine Art, Jewelry & Specie stepped up to honor Kay Paris and Zamprelli Fine Arts underwrote the Margaret A. Willard Fellowship. In 2007, the roster of RC-AAM fellowships was joined by a mid-level professional travel fellowship, sponsored by Rock-It Cargo, and another recognizing the contributions of experienced registrars, supported by the DeWitt Stern Group. Genevieve Fisher Fellowships are available from the following sources. Please contact them directly.
